I am a student at Furman University majoring in Political Science with Latin American and Poverty studies concentrations. My volunteer experiences in Latin America, particularly in Nicaragua, have catalyzed my passion for social justice. I also serves as a volunteer in the U.S. through working with Somali Bantu refugees in Columbia, South Carolina. On campus, I am involved with social justice organizations like Africa Rising, the International Justice Mission and the Mere Christianity Forum. My leadership positions are focused on advocacy and equipping students with resources for ethical lifestyles.
While working for Beyond Good Intentions, I spent 10 weeks as a global research fellow. While researching international aid effectiveness, I worked with the focus areas of human rights, legal aid, and psychosocial effects on returnees and refugees. I lived and worked in Sarajevo, Mostar and Srebrenica.
